Please tell me I'm not alone!!!!
Thanks for the advise it means a lot!!! I just wish I could find away to put the pain on the back burner but it just consumes everything. And I will try to keep my head up:)
Have the Dr.s given you any diagnosis? What Dr's have you been to at this point? I know I had to see several over a years time to get the help I needed. We put way to much trust in Dr's get all your family involved talk as many health professional as it takes.I know 8 months is a long time, but there is someone out there that has some answers. I would not just see an ortho.a arthrisis Dr is who actually said I know no 26 year old female see's this many Dr's and has nothing wrong., it is not in your head. Lets get to work and find the answers and he did.You have to remember a bone Dr looks for the problem to be with the bones each have a their feild.Sometimes you have to go outside the box to get the correct answer.DONOT GIVE UP!!
I had been to a scoliosis doctor, a soft tissue therapist? Physical therapist, a pediatrician, a surgeon, and on Wednesday I see a pain specialist. I've gotten several x-rays and MRI and cortisone shots in my back but nothing has help and they haven't diagnosed what's wrong. So basically I feel completely lost, and so do my parents we have no idea where to go from here. I'm supposed to be getting a bone scan and other blood tests to try and see if we can rule anything out but no clue when any of this is happening.
Good you are going in the correct direction. Pain management will help whith the systems and a full body scan is when they got the answers for me, well able to rule out things and look in other directions. Hang in the right Dr is out there to help you. Let me know how the apt.'s go. If you need to vent , cry, scream out your pain and confussion. I am here I UNDERSTAND PAIN. You seem to have a great support group. Try to remember your parents are just as scared as you. We always take out things on the ones close to us, take the time to say you love them and thanks for all they do. I get so into my own pain I sometimes lose focus on how it affects others.
Thanks!!!! I feel the exact same way I get so
wrapped up in my own pain and stress that I lash out at my parents, but I do love them! Thank you for all your advice and for caring about me if feels great to have someone to talk to. I appreciate everything you have done and said. I will let you know tomorrow how the doctors appointments go.
Once again Thank You!!!!!
Thank you for talking with me. You will never know how much you are helping me. To talk with someone takes my mind off my own pain. I hope you have a good day. Praying the Dr. can start to manage your pain so you can get back to life.
No result yet on the bone scan today, but I did learn I have to get another MRI. So another doctor who wasn't helpful!
Kori2323,
I am not your age, but I have unexplained back pain. I do have degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, osteoarthritis in my facet joints, but every doctor I went to said this shouldn't be causing so much pain. So now after numerous specialists, numerous pain management doctors. I know exactly how you feel being bounced around from doctor to doctor.
Sometimes you have to realize there are no answers, I sure hope you find them though as you are too young to have to live life in pain. Don't give up!
The one way I thought that would help me through the pain, was to do something that I wanted to do. I started going to college. So maybe try to find something that will keep your mind off of it and something that you have been looking forward to doing.
This has really helped me. There are times I feel like giving into my pain, but college has really helped keep me focused and yes I still hurt, but it is something exciting to me.
Wishing you all the best! I will keep you in my prayers!
Kat
Sorry your visit did not hold more answers. Most first visits are the Dr. trying to gather as much information as possible, so he can better help you. With the bone scan results and a 2nd MRI, hopefully he can get some in site into where your pain is coming from. If he did not change your medication much this time, he probably will on your next visit. How are you holding up? I know depression goes hand in hand with pain. Hope you are making the time to get together with your friends. (A movie or just to talk.) When I first started having pain. I found a pain journal helped. I logged each day my pain level, what seem to help, what made it worse, if I slept well. What therapy I might have done to help myself. It might be a tool that would help you. What things are you doing at home that seem to relieve your pain? I use a lot of things. So if you let me know what you have tried, I might know of some you have not that could help. Hope you have a good day with much less pain.

Korinna you are not along in your pain. I am responding to you because i don't want you to give up hope. You are so young and know you feel at the end of your rope. Remember Dr.'s are scienties and you are already aware that they do not always have the answers. I hope their is someone in our group that has an experience something like yours. I do have scoliosis, but my pain started in my late 20's and does not seem to have any connection to it. If you need someone to share with. I will be happy to talk with you. Pain in a unwanted guest in your home that just want go away. The best advise I have every been given is to find a way to put the pain on the back burnner learn all you can to help yourself with your day to day plan. For me that is Yoga to keep the muscles in better shape. Ice and massage. I hope the Dr's find out your problem and help, but in the mean time if they are telling you to do exercises ect do what the Dr. suggest keeping the muscles moving as best you can. Welcome to our group i will put you in my prayers.
